Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to St Helen’s Catholic Primary School.
It is my absolute privilege to be the Headteacher of this wonderful school community — a place where children are known, loved and encouraged to become the very best version of themselves.

At St Helen’s, our Catholic faith is at the heart of everything we do. Inspired by Christ’s example, we strive each day to live out our school values of Resilience, Empathy, Service, Patience, Enjoyment, Courage and Trustworthiness. These values are not simply words displayed around our school; they are lived through our actions, our relationships and the choices we make every day.
We believe that every child is a unique gift from God, with their own talents, strengths and potential. Children are so much more than their outcomes or achievements on paper. While we are ambitious for every child academically, we also know that true success is seen in many different ways — in acts of kindness, moments of courage, the resilience to keep trying, and a willingness to serve and care for others.
Our role is to nurture the whole child: providing a rich, ambitious curriculum, high-quality teaching and a caring environment where every child feels safe, valued and able to flourish. We want every pupil at St Helen’s to feel that they belong — that they are known as an individual, that their voice matters and that they have something special to contribute to our community and the wider world.
St Helen’s is a school with a proud history, but also one that looks forward with hope and ambition. We celebrate curiosity, creativity, effort and personal growth. We want our children to leave us not only with knowledge and skills, but with confidence, compassion and a belief that they can make a positive difference.
As a school, we believe leadership is about service. Our dedicated staff team works together with warmth, purpose and commitment, always seeking to do what is right for our children. The partnership between home, school, parish and the wider community is central to helping every child thrive.
Whether you are already part of the St Helen’s family or are visiting us for the first time, I hope our website gives you a glimpse of the joy, welcome and sense of belonging that can be felt when you walk through our doors.
We would be delighted to welcome you to St Helen’s and show you our school in action.
